Fractional Spirits

Fractional Spirits, makers of unique Midwestern amari, was founded in 2023 as a collaboration between Co-Op Sauce, a long-time Chicago-based sauce company and fermentation specialist, and the award-winning 18th Street Distillery, the first Black-owned distillery in Indiana. The first project developed by cofounders Mike Bancroft and Drew Fox was Fernet Fungo, a bitter amaro featuring flavors inspired by the diversity of the Chicagoland region.

Glendale helped Fractional develop language for marketing materials, and executed a targeted media campaign to help spread the word about this new and unusual spirit. The launch news release resulted in coverage in Chicago magazine, Axios and local cocktail Instagram influencers, as well as an in-depth cover feature in the Chicago Reader describing Bancroft and Fox's collaborative process and future plans.

A launch event at Chicago's Long Room bar, where Bancroft also served food from his Sauce & Bread Kitchen, drew more than 100 people to try a menu of custom cocktails featuring Fernet Fungo and other 18th Street spirits.
