An expert in public relations, public affairs, scientific and medical communications, Sam has a long and successful track record serving a broad range of clients. He began his career in radio and television, and received B.A. and M.A. degrees in journalism from The Ohio State University. During the Vietnam War, he was responsible for a newspaper serving more than 400,000 troops, and then worked in advertising before joining Abbott Laboratories as manager of public affairs. He later accepted a senior account management position with Burson-Marsteller, the world's largest public relations firm, and served as public relations director for G.D. Searle & Co., a major pharmaceutical company, for 11 years prior to founding Glendale Communications Group. He has received numerous awards, including the Thomas Jefferson Award for mass communications from the U.S. Department of Defense, the Esquire Corporate Social Responsibility Award while at Abbott and the Gold Triangle Award from the American Academy of Dermatology for excellence in patient education.
